You must be kidding me right
I used to love eatyourkimchi.
I would sit and watch every single video that Simon & Martina would post. They were intelligently funny, witty, and willing to find out more about Kpop and Korean culture. I loved seeing them be mentioned in newspaper articles and on television. I got all of my friends to watch them. I hoped for the best for them.
I was a huge fan.
But somewhere along the lines, they changed.
I’m not sure when it was, but the humor disappeared, the wittiness wasn’t clever, the complaints grew, and they started making videos, completely unprepared and tried to pull off their ignorance as a joke, which sometimes just ended up being completely offensive.
They asked for the fans’ opinions and when they read negative comments (granted, they did not deserve some of the flaming that went on), they seemed to completely disregard the opinions and sometimes posted negative comments back, saying they can say their opinions on their videos.
That’s true, but as popular figures on the internet who have a lot more influence than they realize, they need to be more aware of what kind of things are appropriate and inappropriate to say. They’ve moved beyond the ‘This is my blog, I can say whatever I want’ stage, because their videos are what is paying for their living now.
I’m not trying to start a fight, but to rather put my opinion out there.
But to the people who’ll still say, ‘If you don’t like them, don’t watch them,’
